Who We Are

Mayianat Community Conservancy is an Indigenous, community-led conservancy covering 6,463.5 hectares within the greater Laikipia ecosystem. Established and registered with the Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association (KWCA) in 2021, the conservancy was formed to safeguard natural resources while supporting sustainable livelihoods for local communities.

The conservancy is rooted in traditional governance systems and focuses on community-based conservation, rangelands management, and wildlife protection. Through inclusive and sustainable development initiatives, Mayianat Community Conservancy works to improve the well-being and resilience of local pastoralist community members, ensuring that conservation and livelihoods grow hand in hand.
