MAYIANAT COMMUNITY CONSERVANCY
Mayianat Community Conservancy is an Indigenous, community-led conservancy covering 6,463.5 hectares, located within the greater Laikipia ecosystem. It was established and registered with KWCA in the year 2021 to protect natural resources, promote sustainable livelihoods, and strengthen traditional governance systems. The conservancy focuses on community-based conservation, rangelands management, wildlife protection and improving the well-being of local pastoralist community members through inclusive and sustainable development initiatives.

Livelihoods, Women, and Youth Empowerment Program
Objective:
To diversify and strengthen household income sources, enhancing economic resilience for women and youth.
Key Activities:

Vocational Training (Ujuzi Manyattani): Skill-building in tailoring, catering, solar installation, plumbing, motorbike repair, and other trades.

Entrepreneurial Initiatives: Promotion of beekeeping, eco-tourism, and handicraft production.

Community Environmental Engagement: Women-led cactus removal and grass reseeding groups to restore and maintain local ecosystems.

Financial Empowerment: Support for Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) and small-scale enterprises to improve access to capital and sustainable income.
